Pro Shop
Sell merchandise and accessories, offer equipment rentals, and add booking extras like rackets and balls, turning everyday front-desk sales into a real revenue stream.
The Pro Shop is where your venue sells the physical side of the experience: the merchandise people take home, the gear they rent for an hour, and the little extras they add when they book a court. It is an easy way to lift revenue per visit without much extra work, and everything ties back to the customer's profile and payment history automatically.
Every product you create, whether it is a t-shirt or a rental racket, lives in the same Pro Shop catalog. What sets products apart is their product type and, for products with variants, whether a variant is marked as an additional service.
Two product types: Pro Shop product and Rental product
When you create a product, the first choice is its type. This decides which fields the rest of the form shows.
- Pro Shop product is a standalone retail item: something a customer buys on its own, like a water bottle, a grip, or a club shirt. It supports multiple variants, for example sizes or colours.
- Rental product is equipment the customer rents, such as a racket or a set of skis. A rental product does not use variants; instead it exposes rental-specific fields directly.
For a rental product you can set:
- Stock amount. The number you have available, so you never rent out more rackets than you own. Leave it empty for unlimited.
- Rental instructions. The pickup or collection details the customer sees after purchase, for example "Collect from the front desk" or "Locker 2, code 9876".
- Where it is offered. Reservation limits restrict a rental item to specific sports, courts, time slots, durations, and similar, so it only appears when it makes sense. A padel racket can be offered only on padel courts, for instance.
A Pro Shop product carries a name, an optional description, a price including VAT, and a tax rate. You can add a cover image and a square image so it looks good in the shop and in list views. It can have several variants, for example sizes or colours: each variant has its own name and an optional SKU for your own stock records, and it can override the product's price, tax rate, and discounts. So one "Club t-shirt" product can offer S, M, L, and XL, with XL priced a little higher if you like.
Both product types share the same discount, sport benefit eligibility, and shop visibility options described below.
Additional services: offering products alongside a booking
Any Pro Shop product, whether it is a rental item or a standalone product with variants, can have one of its variants marked as an additional service. Marking a variant this way is what makes it suggested to customers while they are booking, rather than only being available as a standalone purchase.
For a rental product, the additional-service configuration applies to the product itself, since it has only one implicit variant. For a Pro Shop product with several variants, you choose exactly one variant to flag, for example the standard size of a ball set, and give it its own reservation limits.
Reservation limits let you restrict where an additional service is offered, by sport, court, time slot, and duration. Because additional services are suggested during the booking flow, they are how you prompt a customer with "need to rent a racket?" at exactly the right moment. They can also be sold on their own, and customers can add them when viewing their booking afterwards.
Whether a variant appears in the shop and whether it can be added as an additional service are independent settings. A rental item can be hidden from the shop's product listing but still bookable as an add-on during reservation, or the other way around.

What every product supports
A few things make Pro Shop products more capable than a plain price list, regardless of type:
- Applicable discounts. Attach discounts from memberships or promo codes so that, for example, members pay less. Variants can carry their own discounts that override the product's.
- Sport benefit eligibility. Mark a product as eligible for the Finnish sport and culture benefit where that applies.
- Shop visibility. Set a product to visible, hidden, or not available, which lets you stage products before launch or retire them without deleting their history. Rental products cannot be hidden: they are either visible or not available.
Pro Shop products are tied to the venue you create them in. Stock is not tracked for standalone products, only for rental items, so non-rental products work best for items you can always supply or restock easily. Customers can pay for them with their credit balance, just like most other products.
Every purchase becomes an order you can follow in the orders view, with payment status, the buyer (a registered customer or a guest with their contact details), an internal staff note, and a running sales count per product. A paid order can be cancelled when you handle a return or refund.
A product's details view shows its type and, for rental products, current stock, alongside a restrictions section whenever the product has an additional-service variant configured.
Getting the most from the Pro Shop
- Match your stock to your customers. A venue full of first-timers needs rentals and beginner gear; a club of regulars may prefer branded merchandise.
- Use additional services to upsell at the moment of booking, and mention rentals in your confirmation emails too. Customers can also add rental items when viewing their booking.
- Lean on memberships and promo codes to reward loyal buyers with member pricing.
- Watch the orders and sales counts to see what sells, then promote your best products through Announcements.
All Pro Shop sales flow into the customer's payment history, so refunds and reporting live alongside everything else. See Payments and invoices for the financial side.
